The Festival of Sitges 2017 is very close. There are only a few days left and we have already noticed how the the holiday rental in the city has skyrocketed. And is that this is one of the most important events in the country and the fact that it is celebrated in a time as appropriate as it is the beginning of autumn makes the interest to move to Sitges increase. Festival of Sitges, an event with history
The Sitges Festival has its origin in the Week of Cinema, Photo and Audio-vision, an event celebrated only once in 1967 and that served to form the idea of the Sitges Festival, whose official name is the Fantastic Film Festival of Sitges.
This has been held uninterrupted since 1968, first as I International Week of Fantastic Film and later, in 1971 as a festival.
What we will see at the Sitges 2017 Fantasy Film Festival
Indicate, to begin, that the director of the show will be Angel Sala, who has already given the corresponding press conference to present the titles to be presented at the event this year.
To celebrate the 50th edition has been sought the participation of luxury guests. For example, we will have Guillermo del Toro presenting La forma del Agua, who will be godfather of the festival this year.
We will also enjoy the presence of Susan Sarandon to support the screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Takashi Miike, Dario Argento, William Friedkin and Frank Langella will join them.
In the same way, there are already known titles more than expected such as Mom and Dad, Brian Tylor, Brawl in Cell Block 99, Replace, Annabelle Creation or the very awaited Happy Day of your Death, to name a few.

Dates
The Sitges Festival in 2017 is celebrated between Thursday 5th and Sunday 15th October.
In total, there will be 10 days in which the dozens of chosen titles will be screened and, of course, an opening will be added on the same day 5, which can be attended by those who have a special ticket.
Sitges Festival Tickets
If you want to attend the event, you have three types of tickets available:
- The simplest one has a price of 10 euros and includes the morning marathons Prado and Retiro and the short marathon on October 15.
- The following has a cost of 15 euros and allows you to enjoy the Prado, Retiro, Tramuntana and Auditori marathons in addition to the Matinée Auditori marathon on the 15th.
- Finally, the option of 22 euros gives you access also to the opening of the event.
